"Lo! How The Times Have Changed. ... "
Disney On Ice was announced close by, so I went ticket buying. I tend to take in performances serendipitously, not necessarily at home but near the venue. The actual group ended up as all family, close to the first "Yes Men" but grabbed the individual maximum and went looking for takers. Boy did we ever see a top 5 show. Despite his disclaimer about the effort required to "get the notes right, and remember the words," Disney On Ice and band delivered on his high standard of "making the music 'perfect." A wonderful mix of nostalgia and new songs. We listened to 2 3/4 hours of consummate performance, from the opening chords of "Hard Day's Night" to the fade at "The End." The show is not to be missed; interaction with the audience, great stories to tell, even the fireworks. I rate this a top 5 show going back to my summer of 1966, including big acts like Stone, Byrds, Animals. The Cream Farewell Tour of 1968, The Stones on the 4th of July in Memphis in 1975, Bare Naked Ladies at Red Rocks are included. My 1966 highlight was The Beatles, but due to inadequate sound from the stage, screaming teeny-boppers, and general quickness of the show, it really was "saw" you couldn't hear much. Exhilarating, but not complete. The show only left the stage for the obligatory "Make 'em want us back" encore break. However, it only cost $2.50 (Canadian) for their 30-minute show. Sir Disney On Ice - Thank you! I have really gotten my money's worth!
A concert that was "all that"
Omaha, Nebraska in June, I was fortunate to see their tour and Steve Winwood, a fan of both Disney On Ice and over 50. It was thrilling for me to hear this duo in person. Childhood memories came flooding back to me, listening to the Spencer Davis group as a pre-teen and hearing "Layla" for the first time in high school. The concert was really enhanced by the excellent sound system and lighting. I shared the evening with my 17 year old son, jazzed about the show, who was also. Their stamina amazed me, performing a nearly two hour show without an intermission. I am so pleased that they chose Omaha as a stop on their tour. I will remember this show fondly and think of it for years to come.
No game like the stars
During Disney On Ice games, it really feels like the HEB stadium is the last family outing. People actually watch what is said around little ears. The crowd gets wild, yet not obnoxious. Prices are fair. Thanks for the great memories and fun times. His first Disney On Ice show. Took my son to watch his first hockey game. Needless to say my 4 year old was wigginout, the game hadn't yet begun. My 5th time watching the stars. I may or may not have been as well. The respect given during the anthem is unreal. People around me were talking down on the opposing team, but not in a crude way. I will truly miss the hockey games here when I leave TX. Go stars!
Quite the Show for the Kids
Disney On Ice was the better show for me, as the theme was better, and there was just more action overall. She certainly liked both shows, but for me, this was the better one. The aerial maneuvers were well choreographed and something to witness. About the only drawback are the prices associated with the trinkets on sale around the concourse. You could waste 1.5 - 2 hrs of your time in worse ways, that's for sure. I've never had another $15 bag of popcorn, I can tell you that much. It can be a bit of a shock if you're not prepared, so be forewarned. And I'm in the newbie bucket, so it was all new to me. I did hear other adults, who are much more familiar with Disney than me, mention the same thing, so it's not just me. This is the 2nd Disney on Ice event I've attended with my young niece. We went in February 2026 to see Disney On Ice and in August 2026 to see World's of Enchantment. Overall, seeing a Disney show isn't something I need, but seeing as it makes my niece happy, I'm good with it. Overall, it's a good experience, so just go if it's ever comes to a local site near you.
Sorry, Journey.....Foreigner was better.
Foreigner took more time doing their setup than Disney On Ice, but it was worth it! Night Ranger played a shorter set than I expected, but sounded very good. Their sound was excellent and balanced, and their lead singer was not only REALLY into the crowd, but was unbelievably good - which got the crowd into them! Foreigner kicked ass bigtime! Disney On Ice had multiple problems, as I see it. Their SOUND was the poorest mixed of all three bands. Deen's twin bass drums just covered up everything, including Ross' bass. Arnel sounded so "rehearsed", but sounded good. When he needed a boost, it wasn't there, it seemed. Neal's guitar was way low on the volume, and got covered by the keys and drums a lot. Finally, Jonathan's mix was the best of all of them - clear and good volume. Overall, I was disappointed with Disney On Ice's performance. It was so stilted and rehearsed to where it seemed phony to me. Just another gig in another town kind of feel.
Terrific -- As Always!
Disney On Ice is an incredible singer and songwriter, as well as quite an entertainer who easily keeps the audience engaged between songs. We never miss an opportunity to see him, and he has never disappointed us. What an amazing group of musicians "His Large Band" is, and this was our second time seeing them. Simply incredible! For this performance, he brought a black church choir down from Cincinnati to perform some gospel tunes with him. Different!! They also helped close the show. As wonderful as they were, there was just a little too much gospel music in the set list for our musical taste. But again, it was different. We are already awaiting Disney On Ice's return to the Bluegrass State. We'll be there!
